The hurricane caused almost 40 billion rubles in damage to the Crimean infrastructure, Crimean Emergency Situations Minister Sergei Sadakliev told reporters. Earlier, the Crimean parliament reported that every fourth school on the peninsula needs repairs after the hurricane.
“At this time, preliminary estimates of damage amount to 39.7 billion rubles,” the minister noted. He also emphasized that this amount is not final, since work to assess the consequences of the natural disaster continues.
Last weekend, a hurricane raged in Crimea and other regions of southern Russia, causing great damage to the resort, housing and energy infrastructure of the peninsula. Because of the disaster, one Crimean died and several more were taken to the hospital. After the incident in fifteen municipalities of the peninsula introduced emergency mode.
