Czech Prime Minister promised to transfer combat helicopters and ammunition to Ukraine

The Czech Republic will transfer combat helicopters and ammunition to Ukraine. Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala announced this after a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

“The Czech Republic will transfer combat helicopters and ammunition to Ukraine,” he said (quote according to TASS).

Fiala stressed that Prague will continue to help Kyiv in all areas, including defense. In particular, the Czech Republic will provide Ukraine with training simulators for training pilots, including pilots for F-16 fighter jets, so that training takes place on the territory of Ukraine.

The prime minister said that the Czech Republic is among the countries that provide Ukraine with the greatest military assistance. According to him, Prague transferred to Kyiv 676 units of heavy equipment and more than 4 million medium-caliber and large-caliber ammunition. Fiala clarified that the republic sends about 10,000 ammunition to Ukraine every day and “although one tank, infantry fighting vehicle, howitzer or something like that.”

Fiala in February saidthat Czech military assistance to Ukraine amounted to about 40 billion crowns (about 1.68 billion euros). At the same time, in March, Czech President Petr Pavel declaredthat Prague has exhausted the possibility of supplying weapons to Ukraine. According to him, the republic does not have enough workers for the production of ammunition.

After the start of Russia’s special operation in Ukraine, Western countries began to provide financial assistance to Ukraine and supply it with military equipment and weapons. The Russian authorities have repeatedly criticized such supplies, noting the growth of direct and indirect involvement in the conflict of Western countries.
