The general director of the Fonbet club – the Continental Hockey League (KHL) “Lada” Alexei Chebotarev said that the Czech hockey player Ostap Safin, who is on trial in the team, became the owner of a Russian passport.
The general director of Lada confirmed that the 24-year-old pupil of the Prague Sparta received a Russian passport.
It is noted that from next season in the KHL a new limit on foreign players will begin to operate, and teams will be able to apply for the game no more than three foreign citizens. After obtaining Russian citizenship, Safin will not fall under this restriction. The club will sign a one-year contract with the hockey player.
