Ukraine’s integration into the European Union (EU) will not be painless. Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavsky announced this in an interview with the Ukrainian publication RBC-Ukraine. At the same time, the Czech diplomat emphasized that Prague supports Kyiv’s accession to the EU.
“This will not be painless. This will lead to the situation that we observed with Ukrainian grain on the European market,” Lipavsky said.
He pointed out that there is currently a blockage of roads for trucks on the Polish-Ukrainian border, which is causing problems. According to the head of the Czech Foreign Ministry, the country needs to have “political will” to solve the problems that have arisen, as well as find solutions for integrating Ukraine into the association.
In addition, Lipavsky advocates continuing military assistance to Ukraine, as well as intensifying reforms in the country so that integration into the EU and NATO proceeds faster.
