Customs authorities assessed an additional 1.53 billion rubles to Apple. as a result of an inspection related to the release of goods imported by the company’s Russian subsidiary, Apple Rus LLC, into the Russian Federation in December 2020 and 2021. The amount of the reserve for additional taxes based on the results of the customs audit as of December 31, 2023 amounted to RUB 1.98 billion. According to the company’s report for the past year, Apple Rus’ revenue decreased to 3.6 billion rubles. This is 96% less than the company’s revenue for 2022. The net loss of Apple’s Russian subsidiary amounted to 1 billion rubles, the loss at the end of 2022 amounted to 5.6 billion rubles.

The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) turned to Apple due to non-working contactless payment. The agency suspects the company of unfair competition. Over the past year, Apple has twice paid fines imposed by the FAS.
