The head of the region stressed that, according to experts and athletes, competitions in the Kola Arctic are held at the world level. Together with the minister of the relevant department, he thanked the federal and regional ministries of sports, partners, PhosAgro.
Andrey Chibis also spoke about the financing of sports in the Murmansk region this year, which amounted to about 1.6 million rubles.
So, eminent athletes became the participants of the start: three-time Olympic champion, two-time World Cup winner Alexander Bolshunov. The Olympic relay champion, three-time Olympic medalist, three-time World Championship medalist Natalya Nepryaeva and other well-known skiers in the sports community also competed for the title of the best.
The skiers fought for the title of the best in the classic and freestyle distances of 10 and 15 kilometers, short races of one and a half kilometers, and the pursuit race.
The relevant ministry noted that in honor of the 20th anniversary of the organization Education for the Children of Russia, Health and Spirituality, which is one of the most important social projects of PhosAgro, athletes will receive additional quite impressive super prizes. The winners of the overall standings of the Cup among men and women will receive one million rubles each. Silver medalists – 700 thousand rubles each. Bronze medalists – 500 thousand rubles each. Winners under the age of 23 will receive 500,000 rubles each.
