CSKA hit Spartak – Kommersant
[ad_1]
Having defeated Ural in the 24th round of the Russian Championship with a score of 3:1, Rostov scored 49 points and retained the second place, which was also claimed by Spartak and CSKA. The army team in the majority did not put the squeeze on Lokomotiv – 1: 1, and the red-whites will play with Krasnodar only on Monday.
After Zenit dealt with Dynamo, the gap between the championship leader and Rostov increased to 12 points. Although the club from the banks of the Don probably did not think about competing with the Petersburgers, with whom it is almost useless to play catch-up, but about how to prevent Spartak and CSKA from overtaking themselves. To do this, the team of Valery Karpin had to defeat the Urals, which is not so easy to do in Yekaterinburg, but they coped with their task.
In an equal match with mutual chances of success, the Rostovites turned out to be more successful and, thanks to Nikolai Komlichenko’s brace, they won – 3:1. At the same time, in the first half, the referees annulled two goals from Yekaterinburg. First, referee Pavel Kukuyan hurried with the whistle in the episode, which ended with an accurate shot by Lazar Rangelovic, as a result of which VAR could no longer fix anything, but when Eric Bikfalvi scored, video assistants recorded Rai Vlut’s handball, who gave an assist. Daniel Mishkic scored already in the final part of the meeting with the score 0:2, and it all ended with the guests earning a penalty, which was converted by Maxim Osipenko.
Thus, Rostov, with 49 points, is still nine points behind Zenit, but the main thing for him is that he remained in second place, and he could well expect that his direct competitors would suffer losses in the 24th round.
It is not a fact that Spartak, which has noticeably lost recently, will overcome Krasnodar, which will become clear on Monday. And CSKA, by all indications, was waiting for a difficult match with the overclocked Lokomotiv.
In general, the two best teams of the Premier League have met at the VEB Arena since the resumption of the season. In the previous six rounds, both won five victories and one defeat. True, the railroad workers rose only to tenth place, while the army team pulled themselves up to the top three, almost completely “eating” the eight-point gap from Spartak.
Actually, in the confrontation with Lokomotiv, CSKA had the opportunity to beat the red-and-whites, and for this it was necessary first of all to solve the problem of Artem Dzyuba, who scores, assists, and performs the functions of a leader. Meanwhile, for family reasons, the red-blues had no central defender Moises.
Igor Diveev and Willian Rocha were alternately responsible for Dzyuba, but the Brazilian still had to keep an eye on the speedy Sergey Pinyaev, who almost ran away from him already in the opening and hit the post from the fight.
The hosts responded correctly to this alarm signal and turned the game over to the opponent’s goal, trying to keep Lokomotiv goalkeeper Ilya Lantratov on his toes. And in the middle of the first half, Anton Zabolotny struck a blow that could not be taken for him, taking advantage of the positional error of 17-year-old defensive midfielder Mikhail Shchetinin, who failed to cover the CSKA attacker in the penalty area.
In addition, a little earlier, the guests lost Pinyaev due to injury, who also managed to become one of the team leaders in a short period. He was replaced by Mario Mitai, who just didn’t seem ready for the derby. The Albanian quickly “hung” on a yellow card, and soon got another one, which resulted in a removal. Surprisingly, he received both warnings on Ivan Oblyakov for the same violation – a delay with his hands, and as a result spent some 20 minutes on the field.
However, it was Mitai who created a scoring chance for Dzyuba, when the striker finally got rid of guardianship and hit his head from a fairly comfortable position, but missed. And at CSKA, Zabolotny could have scored a double before the break, if he had not rushed with a blow. Although, even so, Lokomotiv was in a difficult situation, having “minus one” in terms of the score and the number of players.
In the second half, the railroad workers sometimes with great difficulty repulsed the attacks of CSKA and at the same time were forced to take risks, trying to scratch out a draw. However, Dzyuba completely dropped out of the game and went to rest.
On the other hand, Wilson Isidor, who replaced him, unexpectedly fired, who had not played for Lokomotiv for a long time. In the end, the guests gave a corner, Dmitry Barinov threw the ball closer to the goal, and the nimble Frenchman drove it into the net. So the army team missed the victory and with 45 points only caught up with Spartak, which is ahead of them in additional indicators.
