It was assumed that “Mikhail Kutuzov” will be moved from Novorossiysk to the Patriot Park branch in Sevastopol, but it will not withstand towing for technical reasons, the source claims. He stated that the state of the cruiser could only be checked in the PD-190 floating dock in Novorossiysk, but its technical capabilities were also limited due to dilapidation (it was built in 1985).
Light cruiser “Mikhail Kutuzov” project 68-bis was launched in 1952. Its length is 210 m, displacement is 16 thousand tons. As part of the Black Sea Fleet, it performed tasks in the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic, made 15 long-distance cruises. It is considered the record holder for the duration of service among the ships of the project (48 years). The previous docking of Mikhail Kutuzov was carried out in Sevastopol in 2000.
