Crimeans attacked tourists: if you want to go to the toilet, dig a hole for yourself

“Often I see someone in the bushes, a bunch of” cakes “all over the city”

In Crimea, the velvet season is in full swing. But the locals can’t wait for the tourists to leave. In a local chat, a Crimean posted a post of despair: “I want to appeal to the pigs resting in tents on the beaches of Balaklava. It hurts me to see how you shit in the vastness of our country. If you want to go to the toilet, go to the forest, under a tree, dig a hole and bury the contents. Why are you shitting between rocks in the sea?”

We talked with the inhabitants of the Crimea, what they think about tourists.

Olga (Simferopol): “In Crimea, our tourists sometimes behave like pigs and consider it normal. From Muscovites and Petersburgers one can hear: “You owe us, we feed you, who are you without us?”. They don’t seem to realize that we live in the same country and pay the same taxes.

Perhaps there is no special service in Crimea, prices have skyrocketed, but where there is at least something free, tourists destroy it.”

Marina (Sevastopol): “The problem is not so much tourists, but the fact that crowded places are not equipped with toilets and garbage cans. Management companies take out containers in the city at the rate of registered residents who pay for utilities. But during the season, the locals rent out apartments and rooms, someone accepts relatives, more people are added, naturally, the tanks fill up faster. All day long I watch tourists go and throw bottles, bags into overflowing containers. The trash falls out. The wind blows it up quickly. There are few janitors, they do not cope. Yes, they don’t stress too much. Clean only on a couple of central streets.

Workers gather on the beaches in the evenings. Fires are kindled. Rubbish is not taken away. The wind blows everything out to sea. And in a storm, the sea returns what was thrown into it: plastic, rubber and other garbage. In the summer, the beaches are somehow cleaned by those who trade in the season or rent sun loungers, and in winter, no one cares. The wild coast is in a terrible state, there are mountains of garbage that will not disappear in winter.

Plus, there are not enough toilets in the city. And those that were installed in the center of Sevastopol work only during the daytime. The locals know where to do their business, but the tourists don’t. In the evening I often see someone in the bushes. A bunch of “cakes” all over the city.

The sewage is also dumped into the sea. Locals who have the opportunity go to rest outside the city. Those who do not have cars or who have recently settled in our area and are not aware of the problems come to city beaches.

Nicholas: “I’m already tired of talking about the disgusting tourists. I was born in Balaklava. And I remember how it was and what happened. It’s creepy, in a nutshell. Locals always put garbage in bags and take it to the containers. And visitors, apparently, are unaware of doing so. What happened to the people, I do not understand. We hoped that in September everyone would leave, but no, they continue to come and shit.”
