Court sentences Ukrainian intelligence agent to 12 years in prison

The Second Western District Military Court sentenced Oleksandr Tsylyk, an agent of the Main Directorate of Intelligence (GUR) of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, to 12 years in prison. About this with reference to the press service of the court informs TASS.
Tsylyk must spend the first three years of his sentence in prison, the rest of the term in a strict regime colony. He was also fined 500,000 rubles.
It is specified that he pleaded guilty and contributed to the investigation of crimes.
According to investigators, Tsylyk was recruited by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. His task was to equip caches and supply homemade explosive devices to Russia. On one occasion, he crossed the border accompanied by three members of Ukrainian intelligence. When he decided to re-enter the territory of Russia, he was caught red-handed in 2021. He tried to cross the border using forged documents, from which it followed that Tsylyk needed to undergo treatment in Russia.
In early July, the Supreme Court of the LPR sentenced a resident of Lutugino to 14 years in prison in the case of treason. According to the investigation, during the year, from April 2021 to April 2022, the man was collecting military information and information constituting state secrets in the interests of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. He did it for financial reward.
