Court arrests businessman Boris Zimin in absentia

The Tverskoy Court of Moscow arrested in absentia Boris Zimin, who was recognized by the Ministry of Justice as a foreign agent. He is accused of fraud on an especially large scale.
“Satisfy the petition of the investigating authority to elect Zimin a measure of restraint in the form of detention in absentia,” the court said.
Recall that Boris Zimin is the son of Dmitry Zimin, the founder of VimpelCom, who died in 2021. Earlier it was reported that he Boris Zimin lives in Israel. In the case of fraud with the shares of the car-sharing service BelkaCar, he faces up to 10 years in prison.
