Counter-terrorist operation regime canceled in Belgorod region

The legal regime of the counter-terrorist operation (CTO) has been lifted in the Belgorod region. This was announced by the Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov.

“A decision was made to abolish the legal regime of the counter-terrorist operation in the territory of the Belgorod Region,” – wrote he is in his Telegram channel.

The press service of the regional government clarifiedthat such a decision was made in connection with the elimination of a security threat. They added that now the investigation is establishing the identity of the attackers and the circumstances of the incident.

During the CTO, the forces of the operational headquarters, aviation, artillery and border guards liquidated and defeated the sabotage and reconnaissance group (DRG) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The remnants of the saboteurs were thrown back into the territory of Ukraine and hit by fire, the press service of the regional government reported.

It is specified that 13 people were injured as a result of the attack by Ukrainian saboteurs on the Graivoronsky urban district of the Belgorod region. Previously it was known about 12 victims. Also, during the move organized by the authorities, a woman born in 1941 died of heart failure.

CTO mode was introduced in the region on May 22 due to the penetration of the Ukrainian DRG into the territory of the Graivoronsky district. Earlier today, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation tied attack by Ukrainian saboteurs on the Belgorod region with the defeat of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Artemovsk. As a result, more than 70 saboteurs, four combat armored vehicles and five pickup trucks were destroyed, the ministry said.

On the fact of the attack on the Belgorod region of the RF IC aroused criminal case under six articles: 205, 317, 105, 167, 222 and 222.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (terrorist act, encroachment on the life of law enforcement officers, attempted murder, intentional destruction or damage to property, illegal trafficking in weapons and explosives).

This is not the first time Ukrainian saboteurs have penetrated the territory of the border regions. March 2 DRG APU hit in the Bryansk region. Saboteurs opened fire on a car in the village of Lubechan. As a result, two people died. Later, the FSB reported that the members of the DRG were “squeezed out” into the territory of Ukraine, where they were subjected to a massive artillery strike. Russian President Vladimir Putin called the attack on the Bryansk region a terrorist act.
