To complete the construction of the Krapivinskaya hydroelectric power station on the Tom River in the Kemerovo region, it will be necessary to create more than 3.3 thousand jobs over five years. Governor of Kuzbass Sergei Tsivilev told the TASS agency about this.
On October 5, the President instructed the government and the Cabinet of Ministers of Kuzbass to consider the issue of completing the construction of the Krapivinskaya HPP by the end of the year. Its construction was stopped in 1989. The decision must be made with the participation of interested organizations and taking into account economic feasibility. The issue of financing construction is currently being worked on.
Sergei Tsivilev gave an assessment of the Kuzbass government on the socio-economic effects of the completion of the construction of the Krapivinskaya HPP. “During the construction period of the Krapivinskaya HPP, which is estimated at five years, more than 3.3 thousand new jobs can be created in Kuzbass both in construction and in related industries,” the governor said.
In addition, according to the head of Kuzbass, the hydroelectric power station will form a strategic reserve of fresh water and will have a positive impact on the ecology of the region. According to preliminary calculations, tax revenues to the budget after the Krapivinskaya HPP is put into operation could amount to 3.8 billion rubles. annually.
Construction of the Krapivinskaya hydroelectric power station was stopped in 1989, when the station was almost 50% ready. The companies RusHydro and En+ showed interest in completing the construction of the hydroelectric power station. Krapivinskaya HPP is included in the list of eight new HPP projects included by the government in December 2022 in the General Scheme for the placement of electric power facilities until 2035.
