Consent by means of art – Moskovskaya Pravda

The Institute of Contemporary Art on Novozavodskaya in the legendary “Gorbushka” held on November 18 – 20 the All-Russian Scientific and Practical Conference “Formation of Civil Identity and Interethnic Accord by Means of Art”. A unique university in a unique location.

Everything bad in our brave new world is done the same way. Everything successful is unique. Opening the conference, ISI Rector Irina Sukholet said with a feeling of deep insight that many things are happening now in spite of. Despite the circumstances, despite the covid.

A total of 71 participants of the conference were registered from different regions of Russia, including Donbass and not counting students and teachers of the ISI. Rector Irina Sukholet noted that we are all doing the same thing.

Contrary to popular belief, in Russia there are no such problems with ideology as in countries that are carriers of the ideology of postmodernism. Its general task since its foundation has been to destroy traditional values. They tried to hide it under copious verbiage.

The participants of the conference have repeatedly noted the moments of uncertainty of the present time. Several times they talked about the need for science, but did not say what kind. We relied on the works of our classics. Mentioned are Moses Kagan’s Morphology of Art, Vladimir Propp’s Morphology of a Fairy Tale, Alexei Ukhtomsky, the author of the idea of ​​a chronotope developed by Mikhail Bakhtin.

On my own behalf, I will add the name of the first Russian geopolitician Nikolai Danilevsky, whose bicentenary the thinking Russia will celebrate on December 16th. His fundamental work “Russia and Europe” in the light of the events taking place in the world has acquired a new relevance and is in a state of growing relevance.

The above examples show only a small part of Russia’s own scientific base.

I note that the current acute time is characterized by such a transitory sign as the loss of the ability to dialogue, the inability to hear the interlocutor and answer the question without regard to its essence. Based on the results of the conference, we can conclude that despite the circumstances, the barrier was taken and the dialogue took place. As part of the working program of the conference, a plenary session with four reports and five sections was held. The discussion was broadcast in the public domain.

Opinions were expressed to the extreme. Dialogue with a rare ability to listen to each other today does not mean unanimity. The moment of history is too acute to forget about the precepts of Alexander Galich in relation to those who know how to do it. At this point in history, this is simply not possible. We need to shape our future, find a way beyond the horizon invisible in the fog. We can say that this is the main goal of the last conference.

In their reports, the participants of the conference expressed many completely indisputable thoughts. For example, that patriotism begins with a lullaby that my mother sang. On the role of folklore, proverbs and sayings. The fact that national self-identification begins in the family and extends to one’s village or factory, city and country. That patriotism can be expressed in a sense of national community and social belonging.

ISI Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Tatyana Markelova spoke about the consolidating role of the words “Russian” and “Russia”. The idea of ​​their origin from the word “Rus” seems undeniable. However, its etiology is unclear, there are many versions of origin in a wide range from the channel to the lynx, and besides, its use in antiquity is much wider than the geographical outlines of Rus’ in the form of a conglomerate of East Slavic tribes, then the unity of White, Lesser and Great Russia. The discussion noted a lack of understanding of what a state is. We decided that this is a kind of device that you don’t have to love. What can not be said about the country.

Some of the stated postulates sounded somewhat naive. Perhaps narrow specialists would have defined the subject of discussion more precisely. However, the point is to walk the same path again and again. Designate problem points, identify lagoons and find ideological ambushes that have become impossible to bypass. The success of the conference was facilitated by the peculiarity of the current year 2022, which became the moment of truth in the historical role of Russia in the world.

Professor of the Orenburg State Pedagogical University Tatyana Rusakova in her report noted for comparison that in the USA it is customary to demonstrate patriotism.

This is true, such a stereotype of national publicity has indeed become the norm in the United States since the declaration of independence from Britain. However, due to the one-sided work of the media in Russia, it is practically unknown that a state has not been formed in the United States. Most state functions, including the right to armed violence, are outsourced to private traders. The number of those who disagree with the policy of the national elite in the United States is much greater than in Russia. Only Russian journalists do not report anything about this. Some real facts do not find a place in the ideas of journalists about the country and the world. Russia is a large system experiencing pulsations with an inversion of openness to closeness and vice versa. There are few such countries that claim to be examples of the theory of the British historian Arnold Toynbee of compression-expansion of civilizations. Unlike Russia, most countries with a high organization and evolutionary advancement of the titular race are not capable of forming self-sufficient statehood and are forced to be content with the state of the province of some empire. Roughly speaking, colonies. Some try to play a dependent role at the same time in relation to the confronting centers of power. Such a policy is called “multi-vector” and inevitably causes attempts at coups. Others push each other for the right to make the active participation in the “Great Game” of the Anglo-Saxons their national idea and become an instrument of international rules in the interests of the global WASP elite.

For a small country, this may be a temporary solution to all current issues from satisfying a request for some kind of ideology to financing social programs in the face of economic collapse. Part of the aid in a laundered form is returned to the metropolis. Lured national elite agrees to use the population for various experiments to work out the programs of postmodernism, including the destruction of traditional values. The country’s leadership doses out the unpleasant truth in a very Soviet way. And teachers hide it altogether. The younger generation, on which hopes are pinned and attacked with calls for patriotism, is disoriented in life. There is a discrepancy between personal and public positions.

Summarizing what has been said, we can conclude. The current state of Russia is artificial. But for most of the 193 UN states, it is an immanent feature and a permanent way of life. Accordingly, supra-governmental organizations have lost their meaning, being the conductors of the only ideology of postmodernism. In any case, Russia will have to live by its own mind.

It’s like learning to swim again in a storm. Social fetalization, the ability to start again and again from scratch is an immanent property of Russia. Our genome preserves the native DNA of virus-free stem cells. Accordingly, the epigenetics of Russian culture cannot be canceled. As they said in our department of genetics, you can’t argue against genes.

Sustainable development is not stagnation, but the ability to renew transformation during a break. Roughly speaking, to survive under fire and withdraw your platoon from the environment. Systemic errors have found their place in our representations. For the everyday description they are insignificant. However, it would be time to move on to evidence-based formalization.

For example, the sacred statement of Nikolai Nekrasov “You may not be a poet, but you must be a citizen” refers to the monarchical era of Russia, and in the monarchy, not citizens, but subjects. In other words, Russian ideas about the monarchy are different from Western ones. The population of Russia does not feel enslaved. Russians are less prone to cruelty and more good-natured. The national symbol is the bear with its laziness, clumsiness and, at the same time, indestructible strength. The bear can be dangerous.

This is the stereotype, but, for example, the development of Russian figure skating in a state isolated from Western pressure demonstrates the opposite. An objective grading system shows that the winners without competition with the Russians would not have taken fifth place in our country. Our bear can be quite elegant and graceful.

What can become a source of national ideology?

Professor of the Department of Philosophy and Political Science of the Krasnodar State Institute of Culture Boris Borisov went through different options and, among other things, recalled the collapse of socialist realism and then the entire Soviet Union. In the course of perestroika, we ourselves abandoned the set of values ​​that formed the basis of the Soviet version of socialism.

How, then, to explain the revival of the Homo soveticus phenomenon? The liberal sociologist Lev Gudkov spoke about this at a lecture in Nikolai Svanidze’s Chronicles of a Diving Empire, held at the Gulag Museum. The sociologist Lev Gudkov, independently of the historian Alexander Chubaryan, came to a conclusion about the unusual format of the Russian Empire with a reverse flow of resources from the metropolis to the provinces.

As if in continuation of the search for Borisov, Vice-Rector of the Yaroslavl State Theater Institute Tatyana Erokhina spoke about the reconstruction of civic identity using the theater as an example. The evolution of the theater from ancient catharsis to the present day reflects the historical pulsations in human evolution.

During the conference, the evolution of ideas about patriotism and the elite was noted. These words, as applied to the modern world, are deprived of terminological accuracy due to changes in modality between the poles of negative and positive.

The given subject of the conference is best perceived in contrast. Opponents of Russia cannot decide on gender, they have entered the final phase of the trajectory of postmodernism. The task of reducing the population of the Earth is openly formulated. Beauty is replaced by ugliness, truth by lies. Russia, its media and the Runet blogosphere are used to bring into the public information field the truth that is forbidden in the countries of its generation.

Ideas about statehood in Russia are radically different. During the historical gap, the state continues to live in the souls of people. For this reason, Russia has the longest continuous statehood in a thousand years of the existing states. Beauty and truth, despite the circumstances, survived in Russia and became here two sides of one phenomenon.

The conference participants decided on the role of art and its place in the general phenomenon of culture. Associate Professor Natalya Vakurova, for example, noted the reduction in the vocabulary of modern Russian compared to the language of its recognized creator Alexander Pushkin. Moreover, the reduction is not associated with a shortage of time.

At the same time, there is a process of complication of the language, the opposite of the trend of saving speech means, described in the last century by professors of the Faculty of Journalism of Moscow State University Dietmar Rosenthal and Vladimir Vakurov.

All events of the conference were recorded and covered by students of the Department of Journalism. Unlike other universities, the ISI combines the training of journalists with practice literally from the first day of training. They are charged with the responsibility of covering the abundant flow of events of the Institute. Another opportunity for ISI students is to participate in a public discussion on an equal footing with their teachers and any professors.

Let me emphasize once again that there was no unanimity at the conference. There was a sharp feeling of reticence and a desire to argue. And this means that the dialogue took place. This is a new meaning against the background of the acuteness of the current acute moment in history, when humanity has noticeably lost the ability to dialogue. What it cost was evident from the statements of ISI Rector Irina Sukholet. She is right, in Russia a lot is being done contrary to it, and this is the secret of national success.

Watching the event from an irresponsible side, I can say that the conference “Formation of Civil Identity and Interethnic Accord through the Means of Art” took place, the plans of its organizers were brought to life. Our future depends on us.
