Conor McGregor accused of rape again

The most famous and no less scandalous mixed-style fighter, Conor McGregor, got into an unpleasant story. A certain person accuses him of rape that happened at the stadium after the fourth game of the final series of the championship of the National Basketball Association (NBA). On this fact, the Miami police, where the match took place, is investigating. McGregor himself, of course, denies everything. It is noteworthy in this story that the applicant from the very beginning was not determined to punish the offender, but was ready to forget everything for monetary compensation.

The famous representative of mixed martial arts (MMA), one of the main stars in the history of the UFC – the largest promotion of the sport – Conor McGregor again fell into an unpleasant story. Miami police received a complaint from a woman alleging that she was raped by an Irish athlete on June 9 during Game 4 of the NBA Finals, in which the Miami Heat hosted the Denver Nuggets. The applicant’s version of what happened is described in a letter sent by her lawyer, Ariel Mitchell, to McGregor’s own lawyers, representatives of the Kaseya Center and the NBA. The document says that the stadium security staff, with the assistance of the security of the NBA itself, dragged the lady into the men’s room of the VIP zone, refused, despite protests, to let go, and then McGregor appeared (with his personal bodyguard).

The Irishman allegedly kissed the applicant, then forced her to perform oral sex, tried to switch to anal sex, but due to the insufficient level of arousal, he could not do it.

Even spitting on himself and on the victim did not help (the letter explicitly states that McGregor spat to get excited).

As a result, the applicant, according to the letter, fought off McGregor with her elbows and fled, forgetting her purse in a hurry. It was returned to her only after numerous requests. On June 11, she went to the police, but they advised her to contact a lawyer. Now that the story has gone public, the Miami police have launched an investigation. However, law enforcement officers do not give any detailed comments on this matter. But as reported Daily Mailthe applicant had already handed over to the police all the clothes that she was wearing on the day of the incident, so that the examination confirmed that McGregor did come into close contact with her.

Conor McGregor has previously been accused of sexual assault, and in general, the model of the correct behavior of the Irish cannot be called in any way. However, in this story, a couple of points raise doubts about the veracity of the accusations against the athlete.

First, in the letter itself, lawyer Ariel Mitchell says that her client authorized her not to seek, say, the conviction of McGregor, but to negotiate compensation for her.

If a compensation offer is not received by June 12, the letter says, the story will be made public and steps will be taken to hold the Irishman accountable. It also notes that, given McGregor’s reputation, it is highly likely that other applicants will join the case. Secondly, the person of Ariel Mitchell herself is interesting. She cannot boast of special fame in the American legal services market, but she still managed to get her portion of “glory”.

Last year, Mitchell’s attorney was charged with trying to bribe a witness. She handled another sexual assault case. The defendant was musician Trey Songz. The witness stated that she met with Ms. Mitchell in a cafe that smelled of marijuana from her and she came to the meeting with a gun, that the lawyer persuaded her to say that she personally saw how Trey Songs committed an act of sexual violence against Ariel’s client Mitchell (which was not). In return, the lawyer offered from $100,000 to $200,000, depending on how much she could get from the contractor. His fortune is estimated at about $ 15 million (McGregor’s fortune exceeds $ 200 million), and the applicant wanted to receive about $ 1 million. Trey Songz’s lawyers filed a formal complaint against Mitchell’s lawyer, but it seems that she still has a valid license.

As for the reaction of Conor McGregor to the accusations, it is predictable. Representatives of the athlete deny everything. The UFC noted that they are monitoring the process and will refrain from commenting until there is clarity.
