Concern “Kalashnikov” presented the AK-12 modified following the results of the special operation (Kalashnikov assault rifle model of 2012). The weapon received the AK-12M1 index, mass production should begin in 2023.
From updates:
- There is no mode of firing in fixed bursts with a cut-off of two rounds;
- A new translator of fire modes has been installed;
- Implemented blocking of the bolt frame when the fuse is on;
- The engineers put in a new forend, as well as a butt with a lifting cheek.
The diopter sight of the machine gun has changed. The AK-12M1 will have a reversible L-shaped rear sight with modes of firing at a target 0.5 m high at a direct shot range, as well as at targets at a range of 600 meters. In both versions, the aperture diameter of the diopter is 1.8 mm. A diopter is also provided, designed for shooting in conditions of limited visibility with a hole with a diameter of 4.5 mm.
The new muzzle flash hider-compensator AK-12M1 will be non-removable, as on the AK-19.
