The famous Russian composer Eduard Artemyev, the author of music for the Olympic Games in Moscow and Sochi, was hospitalized with covid in a Moscow hospital. This is reported by the telegram channel Mash. According to the channel, the hospitalization of the musician was an emergency.
85-year-old Artemyev felt unwell on December 8. The ambulance doctors who arrived at the People’s Artist of the Russian Federation decided to hospitalize him. Artemiev was diagnosed with covid, the X-ray showed 30% lung damage. The lower lobes of both organs stuck together and do not participate in the process of respiration.
Now Artemiev’s condition is assessed as moderate. The course of covid is complicated by the fact that the composer has serious chronic heart problems.
Eduard Rtemiev was born in 1937 in Novosibirsk. Widely known as the author of music for the films of Konchalovsky, Tarkovsky and Mikhalkov. Artemiev’s music was used in the opening and closing ceremonies of the XXII Summer Olympic Games in Moscow in 1980 and the XXII Winter Olympic Games in Sochi in 2014. Less than a week ago, Artemyev’s anniversary was celebrated at the State Kremlin Palace.
