Competitions were held in Verkhnyaya Pyshma as part of the Za Sambo project

In Verkhnyaya Pyshma, under the auspices of the project of the United Russia party “Za Sambo”, two bright events were held – the sports festival “Sambo and TRP to Universities and Colleges” and the Festival of the All-Russian Physical Culture and Sports Complex “Ready for Labor and Defense” (TRP) among students .

According to the organizers, the festival was timed to coincide with the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the state governing body in the field of physical culture and sports. More than 300 students from universities and colleges came to Verkhnyaya Pyshma.

“The Sverdlovsk region is one of the most sporting regions of Russia: every second Sverdlovsk citizen regularly goes in for sports and physical education,” said Valery Chaynikov, head of the office of the governor of the Sverdlovsk region, chairman of the regional public council of the “Za Sambo” project, at the opening of the deputy governor.

He noted that new sports facilities are being built in the Sverdlovsk Region, and significant sporting events are being held. They involve young people in sports.

“Federal party project Za Sambo” is one of them, – said the deputy governor. “Sambo is, first of all, a philosophy of life; sambo teaches inner concentration and self-control, discipline and the ability to overcome oneself.”

Elena Lomakina, coordinator of the federal project “Sambo to School”, executive director of the Student Sports Sambo League, noted that sambo is interest and erudition, honor and dignity, health and safety.

The main goal of holding the competitions in Verkhnyaya Pyshma was the development and popularization of sambo, strengthening the health of participants, promoting the TRP complex, increasing their motivation, etc.

The Minister of Physical Culture and Sports, Leonid Rapoport, notes that sambo is a sport that the people of the Urals can rightly be proud of. After all, a whole sports tradition has been formed in the region, starting with the first world champion in sambo Alexander Fedorov and ending with outstanding coaches, as well as world medalists.

“Sambo for all of us is an element of national self-identification, it is the only type of martial arts in the world in which Russian is the official language,” recalled Aleksey Svalov, deputy of the Legislative Assembly, coordinator of the Za Sambo party project in the Sverdlovsk region. “Do SAMBO, and we, for our part, will do everything so that our children have every opportunity for self-realization.”

The competitions in Verkhnyaya Pyshma began with the “Exercising with the Champion”. Then 17 universities and colleges were presented, they determined the best and passed the TRP standards.

On the same day, a meeting of members of the Public Council “Za Sambo” was held at the UMMC Technical University. The best projects that are being implemented in the region were discussed in the areas of “Sambo to School”, “Sambo to the TRP”, “Sambo to Universities” and “Adaptive Sambo”.

The forum ended with the signing of agreements on the entry into the “Student Sports Sambo League” of four universities (USGU, UMMC Technical University, RSPPU and USTU).
