Communication will be great!

The Moscow Expocentre is hosting the Svyaz exhibition, the most significant infocommunication event of the year. The forum with a short but capacious name is the largest business platform in Russia for communication between professionals, for finding suppliers and new distribution channels, for developing new solutions and identifying trends in the development of information technology and telecommunications.

The President of the Russian Federation V.V. Putin announced 2022-2031. Decade of Science and Technology in Russia. The international congress and exhibition project “Russian Week of High Technologies” (RNVT) is included in the “Designing the Future” initiative of the Decade of Science and Technology. The exhibition “Communication” is also held within the framework of Russian Week of High Technologies (RNVT) and brings together several exhibitions, forums and conferences in the field of information technology, telecommunications, navigation and telematics. RNVT is an intersectoral platform for creating and developing the infrastructure of Russia’s digital economy.

The exhibition widely presents solutions for fixed, cellular, satellite and fiber-optic communications, data transmission networks, telecommunications, server and network equipment, television broadcasting systems for cable and satellite TV, radio broadcasting, specialized software, solutions in the field of information security, virtualization, Internet technologies and services, solutions for e-commerce, etc. As Elena Kasatkina, head of the Svyaz-2023 exhibition, accurately said, “this is, first of all, new solutions, ideas and the development of vectors and trends in the development of information technologies and telecommunications in the near future” .

The Svyaz exhibition has been held since 1975 and is the largest event in Russia, the CIS and Eastern Europe in the field of telecommunications and information technology. In 2023, 270 exhibitors will present advanced technologies, hard & soft import substitution solutions and their own developments. For the first time since 2019, a large-scale pavilion of the PRC, organized with the support of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), is presented at the Sviaz exhibition.

Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation – Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation D. V. Manturov noted: “Today, increasing competitiveness in the field of digital technologies and the radio-electronic industry is coming to the fore. The integration of modern technologies into production chains ensures the growth of production volumes, helps to create more advanced products, which ultimately has a positive effect on the quality of life of every citizen. At the same time, strengthening the technological sovereignty of the state, intensifying the process of replacing foreign software and electronic component base at industrial enterprises remain priority goals for the work of the Russian government. In this work, we are focused on the development of key technologies that are the basis for the independence of Russian industrial companies, as well as on the consolidation of the already accumulated scientific and technical reserve. I am convinced that only close cooperation between the state and business will allow us to face the challenges we face today.”

Our future is in the hands of the young. Today – students, and tomorrow – scientists, developers, engineers. Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation V. N. Falkov said that the Russian Ministry of Education and Science considers the Russian High Technology Week as an effective platform for professional dialogue between IT industry specialists, heads of universities and scientific organizations. The special status of the intersectoral platform for the exchange of experience in the implementation of digital infrastructure is confirmed by the inclusion of the event in the program of the Decade of Science and Technology in the Russian Federation. At present, the country’s higher education system is being actively rebuilt, directing colossal resources to ensure the technological sovereignty of Russia. Universities are consciously changing their business processes. Vice-rectors for digitalization work in the country’s universities, and the tasks of introducing new technological solutions into the educational process and research are being successfully solved. In particular, more than 100 universities participating in the Priority 2030 program are implementing additional digital learning modules.

Speaking about the young and talented, it should be noted that this year, within the framework of the Svyaz exhibition, a competition of industry projects in the field of communications took place for the first time, which summed up the results of the transition to Russian technologies over the past two years and identified the best practices for import substitution. The projects were checked according to several parameters – the relevance of the solution, the presence of successful practical implementation and access to the dissemination of information about the project. The winners of the competition spoke at the forum “Actual experience of import substitution”.

At the international exhibition “Svyaz-2023” as part of the “Russian Week of High Technologies”, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia entered into agreements with the Russian State Social University and the Russian Technological University. The agreement provides for cooperation in the field of industry, the introduction of the results of intellectual activity and the development of a system for training personnel for industry. Within the framework of cooperation, the parties agreed, in particular, to hold joint educational and competitive events with the involvement of talented youth. The sphere of mutual interests included the development and sharing of digital platforms of the RSSU.

The exhibition program is complemented by a specialized exposition of navigation systems, technologies and services “Navitech-2023”, dedicated to solutions in the field of geodata, transport and insurance telematics, connected and highly automated vehicles, geo- and transport information systems, intelligent urban mobility, satellite navigation. Every year, Navitech hosts equipment manufacturers and developers of specialized software, telematics platforms, mapping applications, and leading integrators of telematics solutions. The Navitech site traditionally hosts the International Navigation Forum, the largest business event in Russia in the field of navigation and telematics. It was Navitech and the International Navigation Forum that launched the development of the GLONASS satellite system program and the ERA-GLONASS state automated emergency response information system in case of accidents.
