In Norway, they were worried about the activation of Russian submarines in the North Atlantic. Commander-in-Chief of the country’s Navy Rune Andersen shared his concerns. An interview with him was shown on TV2. The Vice Admiral paid special attention to the Severodvinsk and Yuri Dolgoruky submarines.
A senior military official believes that these two submarines pose a serious threat to the security of Europe and the United States. After all, they are modern, silent and equipped with modernized missiles. At the same time, Severodvinsk is a multi-purpose submarine. And “Yuri Dolgoruky” is a strategic submarine. Both of them are the lead ships in their project.
Earlier it was reported that the Russian Navy this year will be replenished with five more submarines. Two of them will be diesel, three more – nuclear. Two more nuclear-powered ships will return to service after repairs.
