Comedian Sobolev made peace with Aeroflot

The family of comedian Ilya Sobolev is going on vacation to the Maldives. When checking in for an Aeroflot flight from Moscow, the comedian’s wife upgraded her service class from economy to business. At the same time, according to the airline’s press service, during registration there was no request to detach the infant from the father and attach the baby to the mother. The baby was also ordered a cradle service.

After placing Ilya Sobolev and his infant child in economy class, the comedian asked to transfer the baby to his wife in business class. At the time of booking, as the carrier’s press service clarified, the child was assigned to the father. After the refusal to transfer, motivated by the current legislation in Russia, Sobolev accused the carrier of inadequate service for refusing to transfer the child to his mother.

The airline clarified that, in accordance with the Federal Aviation Rules and the carrier’s aviation security regulations, a child without a separate seat is assigned to a specific adult passenger in the booking when issuing an air ticket. Further, according to the rules, the baby must be transported together with the parent in the seat indicated on the boarding pass.

“We have examined in detail the situation with the family of Ilya Sobolev, and we regret the inconvenience caused. In the company’s activities and in the procedures for interacting with passengers, the priority is always flight safety… Airline employees communicated with passengers in a polite manner, explained the rules of transportation and aviation safety, counting on an understanding of the situation and a tactful attitude towards themselves,” the press service explained carrier.

Later, Sobolev wrote online that the issue had been resolved and wished peace to everyone.
