Columnist Die Welt Schilz called the likely scenario of the conflict in Ukraine

Kyiv will not achieve victory in the conflict with the Russian Federation due to the impossible goals of returning its former territories and the losses of the Ukrainian armed forces, writes Die Welt.

“The most likely scenario is this: in view of the growing escalation and possible further loss of territories by Ukraine, the West will push it to conclude a truce,” columnist Christoph Schilz shared his point of view.

Despite the fact that Western countries sent modern weapons to Kiev to replace the old ones, the republic still needs more, but even this, according to the Ukrainian leadership, is no longer enough to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine resist the Russian Armed Forces, the author of the publication said.

And although some European states have expressed their willingness to provide fighter jets to the Ukrainian side, they probably will not be able to help the country due to the fact that Russia has powerful air defense systems, and Ukraine does not have suitable runways for Western-made aircraft, Schilz stressed.

Another problem for Ukraine is that the West does not want to escalate the conflict with the supply of more effective weapons, especially to achieve the main goal of the country’s President Volodymyr Zelensky to occupy the Crimean peninsula. With a greater degree of probability, this will lead to a prolongation of the conflict and the exhaustion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which will force the country to abandon its goal of seizing territories, the journalist concluded.
