“Is the letter an order from SKA? What does SKA have to do with this letter? This is some kind of nonsense. SKA is able to resolve some issues without advertising it publicly. There is no order. This is the opinion of SKA veterans”– Cherkas is quoted as saying by Sport Day by Day.
The letter addressed to Putin was written by the SKA veterans council after the St. Petersburg team’s match with HC Metallurg. As a result of a collision between Metallurg forward Igor Geraskin and SKA defender Artem Sergeev, the army player ended up on the ice. The referees did not give the penalty, and Metallurg won the match.
