CNN: US approves shipment of first batch of Abrams tanks to Ukraine

The United States approved the shipment of the first batch of Abrams tanks to Kyiv. This was announced on Monday, August 7, by CNN with reference to the head of the US Army Procurement Department, Doug Bush.
It is assumed that combat vehicles will be taken to Europe, and then to Ukraine, along with the rest of the positions that will be sent as part of military assistance to the Kyiv regime.
Official confirmation of this information has not yet been received from either the American or Ukrainian authorities.
Earlier, sources said that in total Washington is going to transfer 31 tanks to Kyiv, and the first batch will include six to eight combat vehicles. It was expected that the US authorities would begin deliveries of American Abrams tanks to Ukraine in September 2023.
In addition, it was emphasized that Kyiv should not expect that these will be new serviceable vehicles – the fleet of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be replenished with Abrams M1A1 modifications instead of the promised M1A2. These cars feature lighter weight and older electronic systems, most of which will be removed. Also, they are not equipped with depleted uranium armor.
