Former adviser to former US President Donald Trump, Mark Meadows, agreed to comply with the requirements of the country’s Department of Justice and handed over documents related to the storming of the Capitol, which occurred on January 6, 2021. It is reported by CNN, citing sources.
According to the channel, Meadows gave the department the same documents that were sent to the Committee of the US House of Representatives, which is investigating the storming of the Capitol.
Back in 2021, a former Trump adviser handed over thousands of text messages and emails to the House Committee. According to CNN, the documents “have shed light on his relationship in the White House, although he withheld hundreds of messages, citing executive privilege.”
Recall that the storming of the Capitol took place on January 6, 2021 during a protest rally held by Trump supporters. The protesters did not recognize the results of the last elections, which resulted in the victory of Democrat Joe Biden.
