Krejcikova, 23rd player in the world, was dominated by American Bernarda Pera (6-4, 6-1), ranked 51st. Trevisan, hit in the thigh, had to withdraw against the Chinese Zhang Shuai. The latter will face Alizé Cornet in the quarter-finals.
Finally Alexandrova, 28th in the WTA, gave in to Madison Brengle (3-6, 7-5, 7-5), another American player, who ranks 63rd in the world.
