Citizens of Poland alarmed by the invasion of Russian-speaking Ukrainians

The head of the Union of Ukrainians in Poland, Miroslav Skorka, spoke about the difficulties refugees face because of the use of the Russian language. The attitude of Poles towards Ukrainian refugees is deteriorating, and this, according to Skorka, is due to the fact that many of them speak Russian.
According to information received by the organization, many Poles express concern when they learn that the aid they provide to refugees is reaching the Russian-speaking Ukrainian community.
Skorka, in an interview with the Guardian, cited data from a spring poll showing a gradual deterioration in relations between Poles and Ukrainians in Poland, in which one of the reasons is the predominance of the Russian language among Ukrainians. He also noted that, unlike Belarusians, who speak Russian, many Poles are beginning to wonder about the political preferences of Ukrainians. Moreover, many people find it difficult to understand why Ukrainians have not mastered either Ukrainian or Polish, although they have been living in Poland for a long time.
According to the Polish authorities, there are currently about 950,000 refugees from Ukraine in the country, and the total number of Ukrainians living in Poland is 2.3 million people.
