Chukotka hockey players entered the fight for the small cup “League of Hope”

On Thursday, May 11, the XII All-Russian Hockey Festival among amateur teams of the Night Hockey League (NHL) (0+) began in Sochi. The Dynamo (Anadyr) team entered the fight for the Small Cup of the League of Hope. The sports team played its first game against the sports club “MB Ryazan”, IA “Chukotka” reports.

This year the district is represented by 17 hockey players and a coach. The main backbone of the team is made up of athletes from the district capital. The team also included two players from Bilibino and natives of Chukotka, who now live in the Magadan Region and the Khabarovsk Territory. May 11 “Dynamo” (Anadyr) entered the fight for the small cup “League of Hope”, held in the NHL among amateur teams. They will compete with teams from 24 regions of the country.

“We selected the strongest hockey players in Chukotka, their average age is 34 years. Strengthened by two players from other regions. Also, for the first time, a pupil of the District Children’s and Youth Sports School and my pupil Fedor Nikolaenko entered the district team. Our rivals are strong, but we expect to win,” said Artyom Filippov, coach of the Dynamo (Anadyr) team.

The team played its first game against the team of MB Ryazan, last year’s finalists. At the very beginning of the match, the Chukotka team conceded the puck into their own net, but in the 12th minute, Rifat Galeev was able to level the score. In addition, during a sports confrontation, Ivan Boronin, Dmitry Bugrov threw pucks into the opponent’s goal. In the last minutes, the district team played a series of passes, and forward Nikita Zorin scored the last goal. As a result of the confrontation, the teams played a draw, the result of the meeting was 4:4.

May 12 “Dynamo” (Anadyr) will meet with “Titan” from Stavropol. On Saturday, the athletes of Chukotka will compete with the team of the Tymlat fish processing plant representing Kamchatka. The team with the most points will advance to the playoffs where they will face the winners of the group stages. This year, NHL games will run through May 16.

Recall that the team “Dynamo” (Anadyr) participates in the tournament for the ninth year in a row. Chukotka athletes showed the best result last year, finishing fourth in their division. In the semi-finals, the district team met with the team “MB Ryazan” and suffered a crushing defeat.
