ChromeOS will add support for input using eyes and facial expressions – Kommersant

American corporation Google testing a new feature called Face Tracking, which will allow users to control the Chromebook using their eyes and facial expressions. This will be useful for people who, for various reasons, cannot or do not want to use a mouse and keyboard.
The new feature was introduced in the ChromeOS 120 beta in the Accessibility section, but not everyone can activate it at this time. Currently, accessibility features include ChromeVox, which allows you to use your voice to open applications on the screen that are marked with certain numbers. Google is probably trying to do a similar method, but only by tracking eye movement – as a result, the speed of work can significantly increase.
Previously Google released ChromeOS update, which introduced a new design and expanded control over devices. There are also now advanced privacy settings: the OS will show when the camera and microphone are turned on.
