Christmas markets open in Moscow

On December 20, Christmas tree markets began to work in all districts of the capital. You can buy spruce, fir or pine on official sites until the evening of December 31st.
Domestic spruces and pines, imported firs and spruce branches are sold at the official Christmas tree bazaars. Also here you can buy coasters for the Christmas tree.
Prices for domestic trees have risen slightly compared to last year: Christmas trees are sold at 1-1.3 thousand per linear meter, and pine trees cost 1.2-1.6 thousand per linear meter. Imported fir rose in price more strongly. If last year their cost started from 3.5 thousand per linear meter, then this year prices start from 5.5 thousand, according to the official site mayor of Moscow.

Citizens were warned that it is better to buy New Year trees at official sites. Illegal points of sale will be identified by representatives of the State Inspectorate for Control over the Use of Real Estate in Moscow (State Inspectorate for Real Estate).
“Christmas tree sales points are located in the city based on the location scheme. Trade facilities should not interfere with the passage of pedestrians, impede traffic, occupy sidewalks and lawns, ”the press service of the department said.
Inspectors will stop unauthorized placement of Christmas tree markets. Violators face fines ranging from 2.5 to 5 thousand rubles for individuals to 500 thousand rubles for legal entities.
