Chinese media revealed the contents of Putin’s letter, which Medvedev handed over to Xi Jinping

The Chinese news agency Xinhua revealed the details of the meeting between Dmitry Medvedev and Chinese President Xi Jinping. The politicians met today, December 21, in Beijing at the Diaoyutai State Hotel. Medvedev gave the head of China a letter from Vladimir Putin.

According to Xinhua, Xi Jinping noted many years of “institutionalized exchanges” between the Chinese Communist Party and United Russia. According to the head of China, this served as a unique channel for strengthening political trust between the two countries and promoted mutually beneficial cooperation.

“It is hoped that the two sides will continue to in-depth exchange of experience in the field of governance, promote the harmonization of development strategies and international multilateral cooperation, learn from each other in building the ruling party and share wisdom,” Xi Jinping was quoted as saying by Chinese media.

The Chinese leader expressed hope that in the Ukrainian crisis, all interested parties will show reasonable restraint and move on to a comprehensive dialogue. And problems in the field of security will be solved by political methods.

Before the start of the meeting, Medvedev presented the head of the People’s Republic of China with a letter personally signed by President Putin, in which the Russian leader greeted his Chinese colleague in a friendly manner and conveyed his best wishes to him.

The parties also exchanged views on other international and regional issues of mutual interest.
