Chinese Foreign Ministry urges US and NATO to take responsibility for conflict in Ukraine

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said the US and NATO should be held responsible for the crisis in Ukraine.

“If we talk about responsibility for the problem of Ukraine, then I believe that the United States and such military blocs as NATO should take it upon themselves. The North Atlantic Alliance does not have the necessary status to reproach China or put pressure on it,” Mao said (quote according to TASS).

She added that the PRC initially advocated facilitating peace talks on Ukraine and history will judge who “really took a fair and correct position.”
