Chinese Foreign Ministry calls for international investigation into US bioweapons

China proposes an international investigation into US biological weapons projects. This was stated by the official representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry Wang Wenbin.

“Washington should agree to the investigation and stop creating obstacles for the international community, which is making efforts to strengthen the biosecurity system, as well as the corresponding legal system,” the diplomat said (quote according to TASS).

Beijing insists that the United States ensure “transparency of all military biological activities” inside and outside the country, Wang Wenbin said. He drew attention to the fact that Washington is actively engaged in the implementation of such projects, but at the same time refuses any international checks. The diplomat noted the “serious concern” of the world community about this and expressed disappointment because of the “unfounded statements” of the United States and their refusal to “clear the situation properly.”

Thus, a representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry commented on the report of the Russian Ministry of Defense on the creation of US biological weapons components near the Russian border.
