China puts into operation a hyperspectral satellite
The People’s Republic of China, after a series of orbital tests, has successfully commissioned a hyperspectral satellite that can be used to observe the Earth. This was reported by the China National Space Administration (CNSA).
Hyperspectral imaging is based on measuring a wide spectrum of electromagnetic radiation. The device also allows you to collect accurate information about the observed object.
China sent the Gaofen-5 01A satellite into orbit on December 9, 2022.
The device is planned to be used in a variety of areas, in particular, in environmental monitoring of the atmosphere, assessment of agricultural yields, exploration of mineral resources, and study of climatic conditions.
