China’s economy in 2037 could exceed US GDP in 2037, says report (.pdf) British Center for Economics and Business Research (CEBR). Last year’s forecast said that wouldn’t happen until “at least 2036.”
According to the report, Germany may lose its third place in the list of the world’s largest economies in 2026 due to low GDP growth. According to CEBR forecasts, Japan will take third place, and India will take fourth place. By 2035, India’s economy is expected to reach $10 trillion and the country will take third place.
Russia, as stated in the report, currently ranks eighth in the ranking of the world’s largest economies. In 2024, the country will drop to 11th place in the ranking, and by 2038 – to 14th.
In 2038, the share of European countries in global GDP is expected by CEBR to be 19.2%. In forecasts of previous years, this figure reached 33.5%. The share of Asian countries, on the contrary, will increase from 20.8% to 33.9%, the center believes.
