Beijing expresses strong support for Moscow in the context of Russia’s upcoming presidential elections. Chinese Deputy Foreign Minister Sun Weidong spoke about this on Tuesday, February 27, during consultations with his Russian counterpart Andrei Rudenko.
The Chinese diplomat also expressed support for Russia’s chairmanship of BRICS in 2024.
Sun Weidong and Rudenko highly appreciated the partnership and interaction between Russia and China in 2023, and also discussed plans for the near future.
It was previously reported that Russia will not open in Georgia polling stations for voting within the framework of the presidential elections of the Russian Federation, since there are no diplomatic relations between Moscow and Tbilisi. It will be possible to vote, in particular, at polling stations in Armenia and Turkey.
On February 19, the Chairman of the Central Election Commission of Russia, Ella Pamfilova, presented the CIS Deputy Secretary General Ilkhom Nematov with international observer certificate under the first number. The head of the Central Election Commission expressed hope for fair and professional observation during the upcoming elections.
