China and Brazil called for disclosure of details of investigations into the Nord Stream explosion

China and Brazil called on the countries involved to announce progress in their investigations into the Nord Stream blast at a meeting of the UN Security Council.

Deputy Permanent Representative of the People’s Republic of China to the UN Geng Shuang called on not to delay national investigations and to more actively respond to the concerns of the international community.

“The longer they delay, the more difficult it will be to gather evidence and uncover the truth. The more doubts and speculations this will cause and the less confidence the results of the investigation will cause,” said Geng Shuang

Brazil’s permanent representative to the UN, Sergio Danese, said Denmark, Germany and Sweden should reveal the preliminary results of national investigations into sabotage.

“The seriousness of the episode and the clear threat to international peace and security require transparent and timely disclosure of at least the preliminary findings of these investigations,” Danese said.

Initially, Germany, Sweden and Denmark planned to conduct a joint investigation, but later abandoned this idea.
