Children’s sports school in Chelyabinsk has a unique karting track

In Chelyabinsk, on Rozhdestvensky Street, the construction of a new track for a children’s and youth sports school in technical sports is nearing completion. About 22 million rubles were spent on the repair of the karting track. For athletes and visitors, the track is planned to open in November.
Now the work is in the final stage. It remains to connect the lighting and install the fence. The principal of the school, Vladimir Ulyanov, says that this territory has not seen such large-scale transformations since its foundation.
“Kartodrom was built in 1975 along with the building, at that time it was one of four such schools in the whole country. The track, at its core, was just a paved area, all the turns were lined with wheels. Naturally, for almost 40 years it has fallen into disrepair, and the training process has become very complicated, ”comments Vladimir Ulyanov.
Today, more than 1.3 thousand people are trained in the Youth Sports School in various additional general educational programs: karting, car all-around, aircraft modeling, 3D modeling, fitness aerobics. Pupils of the institution regularly win prizes at regional and all-Russian competitions.
