Irina Volynets, Commissioner for Children’s Rights in Tatarstan, believes that calls to take animals from shelters are childfree propaganda. This is reported 116.ru.
Irina Volynets believes that the propaganda is aimed at “all people moving along the street.” “I don’t understand why time is wasted advertising that animals need to be adopted from a shelter. But at the same time, we don’t see posters depicting a happy large family,” says the children’s ombudsman.
Irina Volynets believes that there is a substitution of concepts here, since a young couple who gets a pet no longer thinks about children.
“Have you paid attention to what pets are called now? Many refer to them as “my boy”, “my girl”, “son”, “daughter” and so on. Is this not a substitution of concepts? – Mrs. Volynets is indignant. The official believes that “it is possible and necessary” to have pets and “it is better to take them from a shelter”, but after the appearance of children in the family. As an example, she cited her family, where there are four children, for whom they brought “a dog, a cat, a bird and even a rat.”
September 7 Legislative Assembly of Bashkiria contributed to the State Duma a draft law banning the dissemination of childfree ideas among children. The bill provides for fines from 2,000 to 50,000 rubles for spreading these ideas.
