Children with health problems took part in the Sochi family equestrian festival

A family equestrian festival was held at the hippocenter in the village of Verkhnenikolaevskoye. By information administration of Sochi, 80 young riders with health problems took part in it. They rode horses, listening to tips from experienced adaptive sports mentors.
It is noted that the goal of the festival was inclusive communication of children with health needs.
– The main message of the festival is the creation of a society of equal opportunities. Such events change society’s attitude towards people with special needs,” said Anatoly Miroshnikov, director of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports in Sochi.
According to him, at first it is difficult for children to stay in the saddle and control a horse, but gradually, thanks to instructors and their own efforts, they begin to prove themselves in adaptive equestrian sports.
“The experience gained allows children to learn to interact, help each other and accept all people as they are,” added Anatoly Miroshnikov.
In total, more than 2,500 children with special needs are engaged in adaptive physical education in Sochi.
