The working group on military operations in Ukraine has introduced amendments to the State Duma that will provide combatants and their children with advantages when enrolling in colleges and technical schools. About it reported head of the working group Andrey Turchak (United Russia) in his Telegram channel.

In accordance with the amendments, participants in the military operation and their children will be required to be admitted to colleges and technical schools on a priority basis, without a targeted training agreement and regardless of the results of mastering the school curriculum.

“Changes to the legislation do not imply that such applicants will be admitted without competition at all. But other things being equal (for example, the same number of points), those who participated in the special operation and their children will have an advantage,” Andrei Turchak clarified.

The head of the working group also noted that the amendments will allow the children of military personnel and law enforcement officers who died during a military operation or were seriously injured to enter cadet and other military schools without competition.

There are several types of benefits for children of participants in the military operation in Ukraine. Thus, they could enter Russian universities under a separate quota, for which taken away at least 10% of the total number of budget places in each direction. Based on the results of the admissions campaign within this quota enrolled 6659 people. Ministry of Education and Science reportedthat the children of SVO participants will prepare for admission to universities for free.
