The governor of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, said that starting tomorrow the regional authorities will begin sending children to health camps in other regions.

According to the official, so far it has been agreed to send 1,200 children from border areas. In particular, the placement of minors in Penza, Kaluga and Tambov was agreed upon. Gladkov also said that proposals to accept children came from the governors of the Tula, Astrakhan, Moscow, Voronezh, Yaroslavl and Nizhny Novgorod regions, as well as from the Komi Republic, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug, Kabardino-Balkaria, Dagestan, and Stavropol.

According to the governor, “about 9 thousand applications have been received from residents of the region for children’s holidays in other regions,” and at the moment it is planned to take children away from the Belgorod region for three weeks. Gladkov added that “if necessary,” the “stay of children in a safe place,” in agreement with parents, will be extended until the end of the school year.
