Armed conflict with Russia or China is not inevitable for the US. This was stated by the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the US Armed Forces, General Mark Milley, speaking at a hearing in Congress.
According to Milley, both China and Russia can threaten US interests. But war with them is not imminent or inevitable. Milli explained the opportunity not to conflict with the great powers by maintaining the order that had developed after the Second World War.
The general also noted the importance of the military potential of the United States and its allies. Interestingly, earlier US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken called Russia and China sources of threats to American interests.
