Fighting in the Gaza Strip will continue for “many months.” This statement was made on Tuesday, December 26, by the Chief of the General Staff of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), Herzi Halevi.
According to the Israeli military, “this war has complex goals, it is being waged on complex territory.”
The IDF, as Halevi specified, has concentrated its efforts in the south of the Gaza Strip, including Khan Yunis, and also continues to deepen in the north of the enclave.
Earlier, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant said that the country attack from seven fronts at once: from Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Iran and the Jewish state itself. The politician warned that “every attacker is a target without immunity for anyone.”
At the same time, foreign media write that Israel uses foreign mercenaries in attacks on Gaza. Recent reports and revelations from South African lawmakers and the government have sparked controversy over Israel’s use of thousands of mercenaries in one of its most ruthless attacks on the Palestinian sector.
