Moscow City Duma deputy Yevgeny Stupin said that he had received a response from the General Staff of the Russian Federation to his request about the employees of the Wagner PMC who had recently signed a contract. As follows from the copy of the document, which the deputy published on the social network, the answer was received signed by the Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov.
Gerasimov’s response states that Wagner PMC “is not part of the structure of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.” It is also indicated that this circumstance excludes “the possibility of establishing, with the assistance of the Russian Ministry of Defense, any official contacts between the relatives of its employees and the employer.”
The day before, PMC founder Yevgeny Prigozhin showed a video with a group of former prisoners, who, according to him, ended their six-month contract with his structure. He told the men in the footage that they “criminal talent” are no longer required. On Wednesday, Prigozhin said that soon YouTube in Russia could be blocked.
