CHI policies will begin to be issued to residents of new regions of Russia from mid-February

In the new constituent entities of Russia, the CHI system is not yet functioning; territorial funds are just beginning to open there. The issuance of policies to residents of new regions will begin in mid-February, and the compulsory medical insurance system will be fully operational there from 2024. This was announced by the chairman of the Federal Compulsory Medical Insurance Fund Ilya Balanin.
“We have already created our territorial divisions in those (new.— “b”) subjects and we plan to start issuing policies to residents of new subjects from mid-February, and the compulsory medical insurance system will work in full from 2024,” said Mr. Balanin (quoted by RIA Novosti). According to him, residents of the new entities can receive medical care in any other regions of Russia.
The DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions were declared Russian at the end of September 2022. The ruble was put into circulation in the new territories, and Russian mobile operators began to work there. Residents of the Kherson region began to issue certificates for housing, according to which they can purchase it in any of the Russian regions.
