The twelfth world chess champion Anatoly Karpov has been discharged from the hospital, said assistant grandmaster Albert Stepanyan.
On October 31, Karpov, after an unsuccessful fall near the building of the Russian parliament, was hospitalized at the Sklifosovsky Research Institute with a fracture of the femoral neck and a head injury.
“Anatoly Evgenievich was discharged from the hospital,” Stepanyan said. “He is already at home, which is very happy.” As noted, 71-year-old Karpov will continue to be treated on an outpatient basis. “Until he starts work, he must first recover,” his assistant emphasized.
