Chernyshenko: the effect of the introduction of AI will exceed 1 trillion rubles by 2025

The economic effect of reducing the operating costs of Russian organizations due to the introduction of artificial intelligence will amount to 400 billion rubles by the end of the year, and by 2025 will exceed 1 trillion rubles. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Chernyshenko at the plenary session on AI as part of the Army-2023 international military-technical forum.

“According to experts, by the end of 2023, the economic effect of reducing the operating costs of organizations through the use of artificial intelligence technologies will reach 400 billion rubles, and by 2025 this figure will exceed 1 trillion rubles,” the Deputy Prime Minister quotes his press office.

Chernyshenko also during the event pointed to the growth of the AI ​​market by 18%, to 650 billion rubles. at the end of 2022. Against the backdrop of the challenges facing the industry and the high potential for applying technologies, work is now underway to update the national strategy for the development of artificial intelligence for the period up to 2030. According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the draft of the updated document will be presented to Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin in September , and in November – to President Vladimir Putin.

“Also, on behalf of the President, the Data Economy national project is being developed – within the framework of it, the implementation of the updated strategy will be ensured,” he added.

During the event, the participants also discussed scientific and technological cooperation in the military sphere, and Chernyshenko instructed to include representatives of the Ministry of Defense in the AI ​​headquarters, provide access for military department experts to information about existing AI products in Russia, and also conduct an additional expert assessment of the solutions being developed in IT area.

Now, according to him, six leading research centers in the field of AI, which are supported by the government since 2021, are working together with 26 industrial partners on new AI solutions. In addition, the authorities will select six more research centers, which will also receive state support for 2024-2026. The Deputy Prime Minister also spoke about the ongoing transfer of state information systems to the Gostech platform, which will host depersonalized data sets from corporate and government agencies. The registry of typical AI solutions will start working next year, Chernyshenko added.
