Chernyshenko: almost 90% of children in Russia go in for sports regularly

Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian government Dmitry Chernyshenko said that in Russia 88.5% of children regularly go in for sports.
The deputy chairman recalled that the government, on behalf of the President of Russia, developed and approved a concept for the development of children’s and youth sports until 2030. As part of the concept, regional development programs have been approved in 84 regions. The priority task is to involve in sports from an early age.
“At the moment, about 24.3 million children are systematically engaged in physical culture in the Russian Federation – this is 88.5%,” Chernyshenko’s words are quoted by the press service of the Deputy Prime Minister. At the same time, over 3.2 million children in our country are professionally engaged in sports schools and training centers.
