Former head coach of the Russian national football team Stanislav Cherchesov told at the “Russia” exhibition at VDNKh in Moscow how he forced the Polish Legia players to learn Russian, TASS reports.
According to Cherchesov, at a press conference he promised the football players to learn Polish, and they should start learning Russian.
“I told them that whoever doesn’t speak Russian won’t play. It is clear that they did not learn Russian, but they went out onto the field. But I showed them that in the locker room they should adapt to me, and at the press conference I should adapt to them,” said Stanislav Cherchesov.
A native of North Ossetia, Stanislav Cherchesov headed Legia from 2015 to 2016. Legia won the national championship and cup.
